Day 4 – Don’t Be Silenced

(Matthew 20:29-34)

Don’t be silenced by situations in life

There are situations in life that can be described as normal abnormalities. These are those situations which though abnormal, are common and accepted.

The situation of the blind men in today’s bible reading can be described as a normal abnormality. They had accepted their lot and got on with life the best way they knew how.

However, what you have can give you what you are looking for or have been promised by God. The blind men could not see, but they could hear, and they could speak.

The access to your promised future is already given to you by God. When they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out to Him.

What you do now with what you already have determines the future of your problems or challenges. Here are three faith lessons from the above story:

The Hearing of Faith:

What you hear determines what you believe and what you believe determines your response. When the blind men heard that Jesus was passing by, they saw an opportunity to be healed.

The right message will generate faith in Christ. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). To change your future, you must hear and receive the word of God that produces faith in you.

The Response of Faith:

Your response to what you hear is the proof of your faith. When the blind men heard about Jesus, they developed faith to be healed. The proof of this was their response: they cried “have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David” (v.30).

A right response to the word of faith cannot be ignored. The response of faith will always get God’s attention. Therefore, do not allow people, pride, or fear to silence your faith response!

The Reward of Faith:

Any action motivated by faith gets God’s attention and will be rewarded. God always rewards acts of faith. The blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the sick are healed, and situations change in response to the word of faith.

Don’t Be Silenced

Do not let your limitations stop you. Turn your limitations around by responding in faith with what you have. This year do not allow anything to silence you!

“So, faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ
