Day 20 – Give Your All Now
(Ecclesiastes 9:10-12)
Life is full of people who are waiting to find out God’s purpose for their lives. They refuse or are reluctant to engage in anything until they are sure that was the right thing for them. They’re not keen to serve in church because they are not sure the right place for them to serve. They don’t give their best to their job because they believe that is not the right job for them.
It is very vital for us to know the purpose of God for our lives because true fulfilment in life hinges on finding and fulfilling it. However, we should not become obsessed with discovering God’s purpose that we fail to live now.
Give your all
Hence the preacher, in today’s bible passage, admonishes us to give our all to whatever our hands find to do now. It appears that in giving your all to what is in your hands now, God finds you faithful to commit to you the assignment He designed you for. The known is the key to the unknown. What you have in your hands is the key to what God has promised you.
When you do not pay full attention to what is in front of you, you do not qualify for what has been reserved for you. Your purpose in life is a discovery you make in your journey through life. It is in being diligent with the things God brings your way on this journey that you discover your purpose.
We do not know what will happen tomorrow
We are to give our all now to what we have because we do not know what will happen tomorrow or whether we will even see tomorrow. Today is the only day you have so give your best today. Live life to the full today by giving your best to your job, your relationships, your present assignments, and the opportunities God has put your way.
Do not wait until you find that “perfect” church, job, role, opportunity, or assignment before you give your best. Give your best to where you are on your way to where you want to be for that is how you find true fulfilment daily.
“Whatever your task, put yourselves into it, as done for the Lord and not for your masters, since you know that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward; you serve the Lord Christ“
Colossians 3:23-24
I will give my all wherever God places me in Jesus name, Amen 🙏🏽
