Day 11 – A Dwelling Place for God

Day 11 – A Dwelling Place for God

(Ephesians 2:19- 22)

Ephesians 2:19–22 reveals a powerful truth about our identity and calling in Christ: we are no longer outsiders, but members of God’s household, being built together into a dwelling place for God by His Spirit. This passage shifts our understanding of faith from something merely personal to something deeply communal and purposeful.

Paul reminds us that through Christ, we are “fellow citizens with God’s people and members of his household.” Our salvation does more than reconcile us to God; it places us into a spiritual family. We belong. No matter our background, history, or failures, Christ has brought us near and given us a permanent place in God’s house.

The imagery then deepens. We are described as “built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.” Foundations determine stability, and a cornerstone sets alignment. Christ is not an accessory to our faith—He is the reference point for everything. When our lives are aligned with Him, we find purpose, balance, and strength.

Paul goes on to say that the whole building is “joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.” This building is not made of bricks and stone but of redeemed lives. Each believer is a living stone, intentionally placed by God. Growth happens not in isolation, but as we are joined together in love, unity, and obedience.

Finally, we are told that in Christ, we are “being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.” God’s desire has always been to dwell with His people. Today, He chooses to make His home not in temples made by hands, but in hearts yielded to Him and communities surrendered to His will. Reflection: Is your life aligned with Christ the cornerstone? Are you allowing God to shape you, not just as an individual believer, but as part of His spiritual dwelling place? Today, yield afresh and make room for God to dwell fully in you.

In him the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom you also are built together spiritually into a dwelling-place for God. (Eph. 2:21-22).
