The word Peniel comes from Jacob’s encounter with God in Genesis 32:22-30. Peniel in Hebrew literarily means “Face of God”.
Here is my reflections on Peniel:
- Peniel is a Process: It is a life-changing experience that redefines your life. When you come to the end of yourself, your struggles, your ways or become dissatisfied with the status quo. Then you lay hold on God and refuse to let go until you experience a change – your old self dies and a new you emerges. It is an experience that gives redefinition to your life- you discover your purpose, meaning and direction in life. It is not an emotion, but a tangible experience. It is an experience that is predicated upon your decision. A Peniel experience brings you to the place in your life where you understand who you are and where you belong, then you refuse to adapt to where you are!
- Peniel is a Place: Jacob called the place he had the encounter Peniel. Peniel is the place where your life-defining encounter takes place. The place you choose to go to for that life-changing moment with God. It is the place of prevailing prayer – where you refuse to quit until you win, you refuse to be satisfied with what is available until you experience what is possible. My heart is that The Peniel Centre will be a place of life-changing encounters with God. where the weak are strengthened, the sick are healed, the injured are bound up and put together again, where those who strayed will be brought back, the lost will be found, those who are healthy will be feed and they will experience victory, find purpose and be on mission for God.
- Peniel is the People: Peniel refers to the product or people of this experience. Life transformation and greater intimacy with God are the rewards of a Peniel experience. Jacob was changed to Israel; we go from surviving to thriving and from thriving to life-giving. A strong, courageous, and victorious person emerges from a Peniel experience. The earth still longs for the manifestation of the children of God. Only transformed people are best equipped to change the world. They can bring change because they are no longer held back by their failures, baggage, limitations, or definitions given to them by others. Our heart is that as people’s lives are changed in The Peniel Centre, they will become God’s instruments to bring change to the world around them. Are you hungry for God? hungry enough to lay hold on him and refuse to let go until you experience change?
“When You said, “Seek My face, “My heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek” (Psalm 27:8).

This word made me stop and reflect about my life right now.
I came to search afte a video about Jacob and I know his history but today this give me hope to change whatever I am going through.
